Description

When Haruhi Suzumiya is asked to introduce herself at her new school in her new class, she immediately explains that she has no interest in ordinary things. The only things she really is interested in are beings with extraordinary abilities, such as aliens, time travellers and Espers.

She founds the so-called SOS Brigade – an unofficial school club that is supposed to deal with extraordinary things. Kyon is chosen to be the first member, much to his chagrin. With clumsy Asahina, taciturn bookworm Yuuki (whose literature clubroom is quickly appropriated by Haruhi) and level-headed Koizumi, three more club members soon join her weird shenanigans.

Annotation:
In the English edition, the 10th and 11th volumes were combined and published as a single volume. Therefore, the English edition has one volume less than the Japanese edition.
