Wer ist der „Daddy Long Legs“, der die Träume der jungen Waise Youngmi wahr werden lässt? Voller Zuversicht stellt sie sich dem Leben, und wird Journalistin bei einem Radiosender. Über den Sender wird ihr eine Wohnung vermittelt, die leer steht. Sie erfährt, dass der Besitzer der Wohnung an einer schweren Krankheit leidet und sich zur Behandlung im Ausland befindet. Einige Angestellte im Sender sehen Youngmi schief an, weil sie meinen, dass Youngmi protegiert wird. Aus einer Notsituation heraus benutzt Youngmi den PC des unbekannten Hausherrn und erhält eine E-Mail, die jemand an sich selbst geschrieben hat. Im Laufe der Zeit erhält sie weitere E-Mails und erfährt nach und nach eine rührende Liebesgeschichte.
