Auf diese Weise lernen sie die Welt kennen und bahnen sich ihren Weg in die Zukunft. Satoshi Fukushima hat mit »Shonen Shojo« eine sehr vielseitige Serie geschaffen. Die sieben Kurzgeschichten im ersten Band bieten für jeden Geschmack etwas: Action, Romantik, Horror.

So erzählt er zum Beispiel in »Signalreiz« die Geschichte eines jungen Mädchens, das den älteren Bruder seines Freundes tötet. »Feuereifer« beschreibt eine Episode aus dem Leben eines Jungen zur Zeit des Zweiten Weltkrieges, der die Schule verabscheut und in den Krieg große Erwartungen setzt. Die Frage, ob ein Panda aus dem Weltall Mitleid zeigen kann, wird in der sechsten Kurzgeschichte erläutert.
