In an attempt to save their beloved Amamizukan (a female-only apartment building in Tokyo) from being demolished, 6 enthusiastic and socially awkward otaku women do their best to band together and slowly make their way into the outside world with help from a new friend. This crazy hipster does everything she can to open new doors for these ladies and help them achieve their dreams.

Tsukimi Kurashita will nach Tokio, um Illustratorin zu werden. Dort angekommen, zieht sie in den Amamizukan, einen Apartmentkomplex voller Fujoshi, weiblichen Otakus, in dem Männer verboten sind. Eines Tages lädt Tsukimi eine augenscheinlich stilvolle, modebewusste Frau dazu ein, bei ihr zu wohnen, nur um anschließend festzustellen, dass ihr Gast nicht das ist, was „sie“ zu sein scheint.

Tsukimi Kurashita è un amante delle meduse. Il suo sogno è diventare una disegnatrice professionista, e per questo motivo si è appena trasferita a Tokyo, in un condominio in cui è espressamente vietato l’ingresso agli uomini. Un giorno, Tsukimi incontra una ragazza vestita all’ultima moda che salva la vita… nientemeno che a una medusa! Colpita dal suo gesto, la nostra protagonista le chiede di trasferirsi a vivere insieme a lei, ma la nuova coinquilina si rivelerà ben presto decisamente fuori dal comune...
