An ihrem 16. Geburtstag erfährt sie von ihrer Schwester, dass diese ein bewusstloses Kind am Rande des verzauberten Waldes entdeckt hat. Sie werden den Jungen so lange bei sich behalten, bis sie seine Eltern wiedergefunden haben. Gleichzeitig bemerkt sie auch, dass sie dieses Szenario aus einem Roman ihres vorherigen Lebens kennt… der Junge trägt also das Blut der kaiserlichen Familie in sich. Laut der Geschichte liegt ein uralter Fluch auf diesem Adel, aber das Schlimmste ist das Schicksal ihrer Schwester … diese wird in der Geschichte von der königlichen Leibgarde des jungen Kronprinzen ermordet. Es bleibt ihr keine andere Wahl als sich für das Leben ihrer Schwester einzusetzen und alle Gefahren auf sich zu nehmen.
