Naruto ist eine zwölfjährige Waise, der nichts als Dummheiten im Kopf hat. Eines Tages ruft ihn der Hokage, der »Bürgermeister« seines Dorfes, zu sich, um ihm zu vermitteln, wie wichtig Freunde sind. Naruto hat nämlich keinen einzigen Freund, da alle ihn meiden. Der Grund ist Narutos Vater: Ein neunschwänziger Fuchs, der fast das ganze Dorf zerstört hat. Nun haben alle Angst, dass der Geist auch in Naruto innewohnt. Nach dem Treffen lernt er den Maler Kuroda besoffen in einem Ramenrestaurant kennen. Als er ihm später bis nach Hause folgt, wird dem Maler ein wertvolles Bild gestohlen. Natürlich eilt Naruto sofort hinterher, um das Bild zurückzubekommen.

Anmerkung:
»Naruto« ist ein One-Shot-Manga. Nachdem dieser Manga gut in Japan angekommen war, hatte der Autor die Geschichte verändert und die bekannte »Naruto«-Serie erschaffen.
