¿Quién no conoce la historia de Scherezade? Tras la infidelidad de su esposa, el Sultán jura no volver a confiar en ninguna mujer. Cada noche toma una esposa para, cuando amanece, ejecutarla para que así no tenga la oportunidad de engañarle. En la historia original, la hija del visir, Scherezade, decide acabar con la macabra práctica del Sultán y se convierte en su esposa desoyendo las súplicas de su padre. La noche de bodas pone en práctica su plan, que consiste en intrigar y entretener al Sultán con maravillosos cuentos y relatos, y dejarlos siempre en lo más interesante justo cuando llega el nuevo día; así que el Sultán le perdona la vida un día más, para que le cuente el final de la historia. Y así van pasando las noches...

Chi non conosce la storia di Scherezade? In seguito all´infedeltà di sua moglie, il Sultano giura che non si fiderà mai più di una donna. Ogni notte prende una sposa, per poi ucciderla al mattino perché non abbia la possibilità di ingannarlo. Nella storia originale la figlia del visir, Scherezade, decide di porre fine alla macabra abitudine del Sultano e diventa sua moglie, ignorando le suppliche del padre. La notte del matrimonio mette in pratica il suo piano, che consiste nell´intrattenere il Sultano raccontandogli storie meravigliose, interrompendole sempre nel punto più interessante all´arrivo del nuovo giorno. In questo modo il Sultano la grazia per un altro giorno, così che la notte successiva possa conoscere la fine della storia. E così le notti passano...
