Information

Description

Japan in the 11th century is a country where arbitrariness and lack of freedom predominate. An idealistic provincial governor refuses to provide more men to support a high imperial general. While this is enthusiastically accepted by the peasants, the general causes the governor to be recalled and exiled to a faraway province. Fortunately, he is able to have his wife Tamaki, his son Zushio and his daughter Anju brought to safety in another province to his wife’s family in time.

Many years later, Tamaki, her children and a servant make their way to Tamaki’s husband. But as soon as they leave the well-protected areas, they have to expect bandits, highwaymen, slave traders or similar rabble at any time. Everything is just a question of time, and those who recklessly put themselves in danger can quickly become victims …
