Die Puppenmacherin Michiyo und ihre naive Tochter Takako leben ein eher trostloses Leben. Eines Tages jedoch wird Michiyo von ihrem Chef unter Drogen gesetzt und vergewaltigt. Nach diesem Vorfall erwachen plötzlich verborgene erotische Gelüste in ihr. Als ihre Tochter in einen Unfall mit einem jungen Mann verwickelt wird, werden ihr diese Gefühle zum Verhängnis. Denn dieser Mann ist zufällig Hideo, der Sohn ihres verstorbenen Geliebten, der sie einst entjungferte. Die beiden stürzen sich Hals über Kopf in eine leidenschaftliche Affäre, geben sich ihren Phantasien vollkommen hin und im Sog ihres Verlangens lässt Michiyo sich ein sündiges Schlangenmotiv tätowieren.
