Die Mojin sind Grabräuber, die im Auftrag der chinesischen Kaiser, Schätze aus den magisch gesicherten Grabkammern vorangegangener Kaiser bergen. Bei einer solchen Aktion im Jahre 1969 kamen bis auf Hu Bayi und seinen Bruder Wang sowohl die gesamten Hilfskräfte als auch ihre liebste Kameradin ums Leben. Im Jahre 1989 leben Hu Bayi, Shirley und Wang als abgeschworene Mojin in New York. Ein reicher Auftraggeber macht ihnen jedoch ein nicht abzulehnendes Angebot und jeder der drei hat seine eigenen Gründe darauf einzugehen.
