Wie kann eine Meerjungfrau aus der Joseon-Zeit im modernen Seoul überleben? Shim Chung ist eine Meerjungfrau, welche in die Neuzeit versetzt wurde und dort von Joon-Jae Heo gefunden wird. Dieser ist zwar charmant aber auch ein Trickbetrüger und ein Doppelgänger von Moon Kim. Dieser war zur Joseon-Zeit der Sohn eines Adligen, aber in der heutigen Zeit arbeitet er mit Nam-Doo Jo zusammen, einem erfahrenen Trickbetrüger, welcher Joon-Jae unterrichtet, sodass dieser einmal ein genialen Betrüger wird. Jedoch könnte Joon Jaes Freundin Shi-Ah Cha, welche als Wissenschaftlerin bei KAIST arbeitet, die einzige Hoffnung für das Überleben von Shim Chung in dieser neuen merkwürdigen Welt sein.
