Als der Weltfrieden durch die terroristische Organisation Black Cross Army bedroht wird, rufen die Vereinten Nationen die Organisation EAGLE (Earth Guard League) ins Leben, um der Gefahr zu begegnen.
Doch die Black Cross Army zerstört alle EAGLE-Zweigstellen in Japan. Die Agenten Tsuyoshi Kaijo, Akira Shinmei, Daita Oiwa, Peggy Matsuyama und Kenji Asuka sind die einzigen Überlebenden. Diese werden zur Geheimbasis unterhalb des Snack-Shops Gon beordert. Unter dem japanischen EAGLE-Kommandanten Gonpachi Edogawa bilden sie das Geschwader Goranger. Ausgestattet mit elektronischen Kampfanzügen, die ihnen Superkraft und -geschwindigkeit verleihen, setzen sie sich die Vernichtung von Black Cross und deren Oberhaupt Black Cross Führer zum Ziel.

Diese Serie ist die erste der Super-Sentai-Serien aus dem Superhero-Team-Franchise von Toei Co., Ltd.
