Vor etwa 100 Jahren erschuf ein Professor durch einen Unfall ein Monster. Obwohl dieses den Körper eines Menschen besitzt ist es doch nicht ganz ein solcher. Trotz allem besitzt dieses unsterbliche Monster mehr Mitgefühl als ein normaler Mensch. Es versteckt sich leise tief im Wald und träumt von einem Tag, an dem es als Mensch leben kann, obwohl es weiß, dass dies nie möglich sein wird.

Dann jedoch kommt es zur Begegnung mit der jungen Frau, Tsugumi Tsugaru. Sie erkennt des Monsters wahres Ich nicht und die beiden verlieben sich ineinander. Jedoch gibt es ein Geheimnis: Ein Monster kann nicht mit einem Menschen in Kontakt geraten …
