Die Oberschüler Tobio, Maru, Isami und der 20-jährige Paisen, der vor einiger Zeit seinen Abschluss an der Schule machte, sind mit ihren Leben zufrieden. Eines Tages ändert sich jedoch ihre tägliche Routine komplett. Tobio und der Rest platzierten eine selbstgebaute Bombe neben der Tür der Schule, um Rache zu nehmen, dafür das Maru von bösartigen Schlägern verprügelt wurde. Doch die Bombe, die eigentlich dafür bestimmt war, die Schläger zu schockieren verursacht eine riesige Explosion, die unzählige Opfer fordert, darunter viele ihrer Freunde und ältere Schüler. Das ist der Beginn ihres Lebens auf der Flucht.
