Shouta ist nach einem Verbrechen auf der Flucht vor der Polizei. Dabei schleicht er sich in ein Haus, in welchem er auf die ältere Frau Tae trifft. Diese hält ihn fälschlicherweise für ihren Enkel. So beginnt Shouta im Haus von Tea zu leben. Doch als Kaori, die wirkliche Enkelin von Tea, ein paar Tage zu Besuch kommt, stehen die beiden sich nun gegenüber.

Eines Tages hören Shouta und Kaori im Radio eine Diskussion über einen alten Marathonläufer. Dabei ermutigt Kaori Shouta ebenfalls an einem Marathon teilzunehmen.
