The Game: Towards Zero (2020)

A woman asks Kim Tae-Pyung a strange question: she wants to know if her son dies before her. It is indeed a strange request, though Tae-Pyung has the ability to see a person’s final moments before their death. He only needs to look them in the eyes, personally or in a photo. And sadly, so far, he has never been wrong.

Said son is no one else than a brutal gang leader, and he abducts Tae-Pyung to get information about his death himself. But the situation ends in a disaster when a gang battle breaks out. Many lose their lives; Tae-Pyung is the only survivor and thus of great interest as a witness for the police team around Seo Joon-Young. However, when Joon-Young tries to question him, he has already left the hospital. When he is finally stopped by her, there is a surprise: Tae-Pyung can not see the details of Joon-Young’s death!

Eine Frau bittet Kim Tae-Pyung um etwas ganz Besonderes: Sie möchte wissen, ob ihr Sohn vor ihr stirbt oder nicht. Eine unter normalen Umständen sehr seltsame Frage, doch Tae-Pyung besitzt die Fähigkeit, die letzten Momente vor dem Tod einer Person zu sehen. Er muss der Person hierfür nur in die Augen schauen, persönlich oder auf einem Foto. Und geirrt hat er sich leider bisher noch nie.
Wie sich herausstellt handelt es sich um den angesprochenen Sohn um einen Gangster. Dieser lässt Tae-Pyung gleich entführen, um die Information selbst aus ihm herauszupressen, doch die Situation endet in einer Massenschlägerei mit zahlreichen Toten. Tae-Pyung überlebt als Einziger und wird damit als Zeuge für die Polizei rund um Polizistin Seo Joon-Young interessant, nur verlässt er vorzeitig das Krankenhaus. Als er schließlich doch von der Polizistin gestellt wird, das Überraschende: Tae-Pyung kann Joon-Youngs Tod nicht vorhersehen!
