Tamaran Hill (2022)

When she visits her mother’s grave, student Hinako finds cosmoses on the gravestone that she cannot explain how they got there. A short time later, her father calls her and explains that he cannot come home due to a storm. As he does so, he keeps repeating the word “tamaran” (unbearable), his favourite swear word. On the way home, Hinako happens to see the novel “Tamaran Hill” in a bookshop and buys it on impulse. Hinako is immediately enthralled by the book and soon, she begins to dream about the events of the previous day and the content of the story. She even meets the author, Senji Kuroi, in the dream and the boundaries between reality and the dream world start to blur more and more.

Als sie das Grab ihrer Mutter besucht, findet die Studentin Hinako Kosmeen auf dem Grabstein, von denen sie sich nicht erklären kann, wie sie dorthin gekommen sind. Kurze Zeit später ruft ihr Vater sie an und erklärt ihr, dass er auf Grund eines Unwetters nicht nach Hause kommen kann. Dabei wiederholt er immer wieder das Wort »tamaran« (unerträglich) – sein Lieblingsschimpfwort. Auf dem Heimweg sieht Hinako zufällig in einem Buchladen den Roman »Tamaran Hill« und kauft ihn aus einem Impuls heraus. Hinako ist sofort begeistert von dem Buch und bald schon beginnt sie, von den Geschehnissen des letzten Tages und dem Inhalt der Geschichte zu träumen. Sie trifft im Traum sogar den Autor, Senji Kuroi, und die Grenzen zwischen Realität und Traumwelt verschwimmen immer mehr.
