Around the Table (2021)

“Around the Table” is about Haruko, a single mother who lives with her son Riku as well as her friend Aiko and her partner Sorao. During the summer, the four of them get a new flatmate: sweet Yuko, the daughter of an old friend of Haruka’s, wants to enrol in an art institute and therefore moves into the shared flat. However, this wouldn’t be a problem if it weren’t for the fact that Haruko and Tomoya, Yuko’s father, have a complicated past together … Can this go well or is this arrangement bound to fail?

In »Around the Table« geht es um die alleinerziehende Mutter Haruko, die zusammen mit ihrem Sohn Riku sowie ihrer Freundin Aiko und deren Lebenspartner Sorao lebt. Während des Sommers bekommen die vier eine neue Mitbewohnerin: Die süße Yuko, die Tochter eines alten Freundes von Haruka, möchte sich den Sommer über in ein Kunstinstitut einschreiben und zieht deshalb in die Wohngemeinschaft. Das wäre alles kein Problem, wenn Haruko und Tomoya, Yukos Vater, nicht so eine unschöne gemeinsame Vergangenheit hätten …
