Synopsis
25-year-old Li Jenyao causes a stir when he turns himself in to the police and confesses to being behind a series of brutal murders. Under the name “Rainstorm Killer”, he is said to have terrorised several of his former classmates. While he reveals the details of the crimes, one crucial question remains unanswered: why did he commit these acts? His first and only prison interview partner is the young filmmaker Chou Pinyu, who tries to get to the bottom of the suspected serial killer’s thoughts.
But Pinyu herself soon finds herself caught up in a maelstrom of mysterious dreams in which Jenyao and a mysterious girl in a school uniform appear. As memories, visions and reality become increasingly blurred, long-hidden events from the past begin to come to light. The story leads back to old relationships, feelings of guilt and unresolved conflicts, the shadows of which still lie over the lives of those involved—and perhaps also conceal the truth behind the murders.
