Nach der Apocalypse ist die Welt weitgehend verwüstet. Shin (Costas Mandylor), selbsternannter Herrscher der Welt, terrorisiert sein Volk. Die verängstigten Menschen sind ihm und der Willkür seiner grausamen Anhänger, den »Crossmen«, ausgeliefert. Allein Kenshiro (Gary Daniels) kann die Überlebenden der Endzeit-Katastrophe retten. Als dem tapferen Krieger im Traum sein toter Vater (Malcolm McDowell) erscheint, der ihn ermahnt, nicht tatenlos das verwüstete Land zu durchstreifen, steht Kernshiros Entschluß fest. Der Martial-Arts-Kämpfer dringt in das gefährliche Gebiet des Paradise Valley-Volks ein und fordert seinen Widersacher zum Kampf heraus. Kenshiro kämpft um die Zukunft der Menscheit und vor allem um Julia (Isako Washio), die Shin gefangen hält.
