Ein mysteriöser Serienkiller treibt sein Unwesen. Allen Opfern reißt er das Herz heraus. Das 4. Opfer ist Mina, die der Ritualmörder auf dem Weg zur Hochzeit erwischt. Die Wächterin der Totenwelt und des dortigen »Tores der Wut«, zu dem alle Ermordeten kommen, gibt Mina 3 Möglichkeiten:

1. Direkt ins Paradies und eine ungewisse Wiedergeburt.
2. Zurück in die Welt der Lebenden als Geist, der die Menschheit plagt.
3. Sie darf einen Menschen verfluchen, kommt dann aber in die Hölle.

Mina hat für die Entscheidung 12 Tage Zeit. Sie folgt ihrem Bräutigam, einem Cop, bei seinen Ermittlungen und wird überraschend zur Torwächterin befördert. Nun muss sie sich ihrem einstigen Killer stellen, der aggressiv versucht, in das Totenreich einzudringen.
