Es ist hart, viel Zeit in seine Arbeit investieren zu müssen. Noch härter ist es, wenn diese Arbeit auch noch schlecht bezahlt wird. Mit genau diesem Problem haben die Arbeiter einer Färberei zu kämpfen, denen ungerechterweise von den Mandschuren der Lohn um 20% gekürzt wird. Um ihre Arbeitgeber dazu zu bringen, ihnen wieder den Lohn zu zahlen, der ihnen zusteht, engagieren die Färber den Schauspieler Jen Chi, der sich bei den Mandschuren als Shaolinmönch verkleidet für die Forderung nach gerechter Bezahlung einsetzen soll. Leider fällt das falsche Spiel sehr schnell auf und die Arbeiter werden für ihren Täuschungsversuch schwer bestraft. Jen Chi fühlt sich schuldig für das, was seinen Freunden durch sein Versagen widerfährt und wagt einen zweiten Versuch, um den Färbern zu helfen. Doch dieses Mal will er sich besser vorbereiten: Er macht sich auf den Weg zum Shaolintempel, um dort Kung Fu zu lernen und sich damit im Kampf gegen die Mandschuren einen Vorteil zu verschaffen.
Die Frage ist nur: Hält er das rigorose Training durch?
