Live-Action Movie adapted from Hinako Sugiura's Manga Gassou
posted on by BeleggrodionA Live-Action adaptation from Hinako Sugiura's Gassoh, which won the Japan Cartoonists Association Award in 1984, is currently in production. The planned release date is fall 2015.
The Edo-period manga is set in the year 1868 and is about a young man who joins the elite Shougitai division of the Shogunate. They fight to oppose the Meiji goverment in the last days of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
The production team will be consisting of Tatsuo Kobayashi as director and Aya Watanabe as script writer. Yuuya Yagira as Goku Akitsu, Kouji Seto as Masanosuke Yoshimori and Amane Okayama as Teijirou Fukuhara will act as screen actors.
