Bereits auf der diesjährigen AnimagiC kündigte KSM Anime an, dass man sich die Rechte am „Star Blazers 2199: Space Battleship Yamato“-Anime gesichert hat. Ab sofort kann man sich das erste von fünf Volumes beim Online-Versandhändler Amazon vorbestellen.Die 26-teilige Anime-Serie, die beim Studio XEBEC produziert wurde, lief in Japan von 2012 bis 2013, wobei die Regieführung von Akihiro Enomoto und Yutaka Izubuchi, der zugleich auch die Drehbücher zur Serie verfasste, übernommen wurde.
