Rihito TAKARAI (Person)

Rihito Takarai is a Japanese mangaka who does not only specialise in the shounen-ai genre, even though these are better known. She has also previously drawn non-romance titles for the shoujo and josei target groups. Recently, she has also been bringing out titles for the shounen target group, for which she now deliberately uses a different artist’s name: Octo.

As early as 2004, she published doujinshis for “The Prince of Tennis” in the GIGA TRAPER circle. In 2007, she became known to a wider public when she illustrated the manga “Seven Days” by author Benio Tachibana. Since then, she has increasingly published manga, for which she also acts as an author herself.

Rihito Takarai ist eine japanische Mangaka, die sich nicht nur auf das Genre Shounen-Ai spezialisiert hat, auch wenn diese bekannter sind. So hat sie auch schon früher Non-Romance der Zielgruppen Shoujo, Josei gezeichnet. Neuerdings bringt sie nun auch Titel der Shounen-Zielgruppe, für diese verwendet sie nun gewollt einen anderen Künstlernamen: Octo.

Schon 2004 veröffentlichte sie Doujinshis zu „The Prince of Tennis“ im Zirkel GIGA TRAPER. 2007 wurde sie einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit bekannt, als sie den Manga „Seven Days“ der Autorin Benio Tachibana illustrierte. Seitdem veröffentlicht sie vermehrt Manga, für die sie auch selbst als Autorin fungiert.
