Mayu Sakai ist eine japanische Mangaka.
Nach ihrem Debüt 2000 arbeitete sie als Assistentin für die Mangaka Miho Obana und veröffentlichte nebenbei ihre ersten eigenen Mangas Our Journey und Nine Puzzle. Der eigentliche Durchbruch gelang ihr 2002 mit Nagatacho Strawberry und nur fünf Jahre später, im Jahr 2007, gelang ihr ihr Debüt in Deutschland mit Rockin Heaven.
