Alibaba’s Revenge (1971)

A long time ago, Alibaba outwitted forty robbers and stole their treasures. With this newly acquired wealth, he became the richest man in the land.

Since then, many years have passed, and thirty-three generations have been born who have lived in the stolen wealth until Alibaba the 33rd is dismayed to discover that, over all these years, nothing has remained of the once vast robber’s treasure but a dusty old oil lamp. Though, when one of his servants cleans the old lamp, a powerful djinni suddenly appears, wanting to grant him all his wishes. However, the djinni is terribly afraid of cats. Without further ado, Alibaba, who sees new wealth in the djinni, has all the cats in the city captured and locked away. In doing so, however, Alibaba incurs the wrath of little Goro. Goro is the descendant of the robber chief from whom Alibaba the first once stole the treasure. Now Goro sees the chance for revenge and, together with his friend, collects thirty-eight cats in order to resurrect the power of the forty robbers.

Vor langer Zeit überlistete Alibaba vierzig Räuber und stahl ihnen ihre Schätze. Durch diesen neu erlangten Reichtum wurde er zum reichsten Mann des Landes.

Seitdem sind viele Jahre ins Land gezogen und dreiunddreißig Generationen geboren worden, die im gestohlenen Reichtum gelebt haben. So muss Alibaba der dreiunddreißigste mit Bestürzung feststellen, dass über all die Jahre vom einst riesigen Räuberschatz nichts weiter übrig geblieben ist, als eine verstaubte alte Öllampe. Doch als einer seiner Bediensteten diese alte Öllampe putzt, erscheint auf einmal ein mächtiger Dschinn, der ihm alle Wünsche erfüllen will. Allerdings hat der Dschinn furchtbare Angst vor Katzen. Kurzerhand lässt Alibaba der Dreiunddreißigste, der in dem Dschinn neuen Reichtum sieht, alle Katzen der Stadt einfangen und wegsperren. Damit zieht Alibaba jedoch den Zorn des kleinen Goro auf sich. Goro ist der Nachfahre des Räuberhauptmannes, dem Alibaba der erste einst den Schatz gestohlen hat. Nun sieht Goro die Chance auf Rache und sammelt gemeinsam mit seinem Freund achtunddreißig Katzen, um so die Macht der vierzig Räuber wieder auferstehen zu lassen.

Desde entonces, han pasado muchos años y han nacido treinta y tres generaciones que han vivido de la riqueza robada. Así que Alí Babá el trigésimo tercero se siente consternado al descubrir que durante todos estos años no ha quedado nada del inmenso tesoro del ladrón, salvo una vieja y polvorienta lámpara de aceite. Pero cuando uno de sus sirvientes limpia esta vieja lámpara de aceite, aparece de repente un poderoso genio que quiere concederle todos sus deseos. Sin embargo, el genio tiene un miedo terrible a los gatos. A continuación, Alí Babá el trigésimo tercero, que ve una nueva riqueza en el genio, hace capturar y encerrar a todos los gatos de la ciudad. Con esto, no obstante, Alí Babá atrae la ira del pequeño Goro. Goro es el descendiente del jefe de los ladrones a quien Alí Babá I robó una vez el tesoro. Ahora Goro ve la oportunidad de vengarse y junto con su amigo reúne treinta y ocho gatos para resucitar el poder de los cuarenta ladrones.
