Scissor Seven OVA (2018)

“Scissor Seven OVA” tells, on the one hand, how Thirteen came to be an assassin, and, on the other hand, about the career of Dai Bos, Seven’s manager and ultimately close friend.

Episode 1
As a child, Thirteen lived in the temple of her father, the Plum Blossom Master, who was a master of the sword and qi. For example, he could even deflect a sniper’s bullet with the mentioned sword. However, he did not want to pass on his skills to his 13 daughters or to outsiders, so one day, he brought home a new wife, hoping to have a son. After Thirteen and her mother were banished, a few bad experiences eventually drove the young girl into the arms of her new master.

Episodes 2 to 4
Dai Bo tells his foster son Xiao Fei that he was not always the “King of Chickens”. Once upon a time, Dai Bo’s best friend Da Fei – also Xiao Fei’s father – set out to defeat King Pheasant and thus gain a better future for his son. But when the latter no longer followed the rules, Dai Bo could only watch powerlessly. He swore revenge for his friend, took his son in and wanted to finish what his friend had started. But does Dai Bo really stand a chance against the vile King Pheasant?

»Scissor Seven OVA« erzählt einerseits, wie es dazu kam, dass Thirteen zu einer Assassine wurde, andererseits vom Werdegang des Dai Bos, Sevens Manager und letztendlich engen Freund.

Episode 1
Als Kind lebte Thirteen im Tempel ihres Vaters, des Plum Blossom Masters, der ein Meister des Schwerts und auch des Qis war; er konnte beispielsweise sogar das Geschoss eines Scharfschützen mit besagtem Schwert abwehren. Seine Fähigkeiten wollte er jedoch weder an seine 13 Töchter noch an Außenstehende weitergeben, und so brachte er eines Tages eine neue Frau nach Hause, in der Hoffnung auf einen Sohn. Nachdem Thirteen und ihre Mutter verbannt worden waren, trieben ein paar schlimme Erlebnisse das junge Mädchen letztendlich in die Arme ihres neuen Meisters.

Episoden 2 bis 4
Dai Bo erzählt seinem Ziehsohn Xiao Fei, dass er nicht immer der »König der Hühner« war. Einst machte sich Dai Bos bester Freund Da Fei – zugleich Xiao Feis Vater – auf, um King Pheasant zu bezwingen und so für seinen Sohn eine bessere Zukunft zu erringen. Doch als Letzterer sich nicht mehr an der Regeln hielt, konnte Dai Bo nur machtlos zuschauen. Er schwor Rache für seinen Freund, nahm dessen Sohn bei sich auf und wollte vollenden, was sein Freund begonnen hatte. Aber hat Dai Bo gegen den niederträchtigen King Pheasant wirklich eine Chance?
