Synopsis

Japan, 1956: Deep in the mountains lies the remote village of Kukura, controlled by the influential Ryuga family, who secretly control the country’s politics and economy. After the death of the patriarch, a bitter power struggle breaks out over his succession – and in the midst of these intrigues, a gruesome murder takes place at the shrine of the village.

While blood bank employee Mizuki pursues his own goals, a stranger enters the village in search of his wife – Kitaro’s future father. What begins as a personal journey becomes a maelstrom of secrets, betrayal, and sinister events that change everyone’s fate. Decades later, Kitaro returns to this place with Medama Oyaji to learn the truth behind that fateful encounter …
