Synopsis

Set in an alternate Japan during the Edo period (1603 to 1868), a large portion of the male population is wiped out by mysterious red pox. A transformation takes place, and women become the driving force of society and rise to leadership positions. Men serve as givers of life for pay, and few wealthy women can afford a consort. Only the most powerful woman in the country, the Shogun, runs a harem, the Oooku, the Inner Chambers.
