Synopsis

After a long journey and many battles fought, Captain Harlock, at this time still an officer of the Solar Federation, returns to Earth with his spaceship Deathshadow, where he realises that the planet has been conquered by the aliens of the Illumidus Empire. What is even worse, however, is that the humans see people like him, who were far out in space during the battle and failed to protect the planet in its most difficult hours, as the real culprits for the defeat.

The proud fighter does not want to accept humanity’s servitude and, therefore, joins the rebellion. Deep underground, he then encounters the greatest hope for the liberation of the planet: The spaceship Arcadia, which bears the same name as the fighter plane of a scarred Japanese pilot during the Second World War, who has a mysterious connection to Harlock. But just like his comrade Emeraldas, our hero still faces many losses in this conflict …
