Synopsis

Reinhard von Müsel is the son of a poor aristocratic family. When he moves into a new house, he immediately makes friends with his neighbour, a boy called Siegfried Kircheis. Together they live under the watchful eye of his sister Annerose. When his sister is taken to become the emperor’s wife, it sparks anger in Reinhard. He joins the military to address such injustices and convinces Kircheis to join him. As young commanders, they head for the fortress of Iserlohn to defend it against the Free Planet Alliance. However, this is not the only threat Reinhard faces – the Baroness Benemunde, the Emperor’s jealous ex-wife, also sees her rival’s brother as her enemy.
Annotation:
Unlike the series, this OVA is not based directly on the novel series by Yoshiki Tanaka but on a manga by Tanaka and Katsumi Michihara from 1986. For this reason, the character and ship design differ greatly from that of the series in places.
