Die junge Coco lebt in Paris und setzt alles daran, ihren Traum in die Tat umzusetzen: eine der führenden Modesignerinnen zu werden. Während ihrer Zeit in der »Stadt der Blumen« freundet sie sich mit dem gutherzigen Gerom an, muss Erniedrigungen durch Madame Elle – eine der wichtigsten Persönlichkeiten in der Branche – ertragen und entwickelt dabei sukzessive ihre verborgenen Fähigkeiten.
