Synopsis

After Jirou was abandoned as a baby, he was taken in by the innkeeper Tsuyu and became part of her family. But the peaceful times in the village of Sai come to an end when Jirou returns home one day and finds Tsuyu and her daughter Sayuri murdered. Because he also finds a strange dagger there, he is accused of murder shortly afterwards and has no choice but to flee. When Jirou meets the priest Tenkai, an agent of the shogunate, he is led to a ninja who is said to have murdered his foster family. After Jirou is able to take revenge, Tenkai takes him under his wing and trains him as a ninja.

Years later, Jirou leaves his training centre to investigate the mysterious background of his family, but the priest Tenkai seems to have other plans for his pupil and has him under constant surveillance. Jirou soon learns more about his past and realises that his path to revenge is far from over …
