Wie der Titel der OVA schon andeutet, handelt es sich nicht um eine Fortsetzung der Geschichte von Da Capo I, sondern um ein alternatives Szenario. Die "Siegerin" des Originals ist aus dem Spiel und an ihre Stelle tritt Kotori. Durch die Kürze der OVA kommt der Konflikt zwischen ihr und Jun'ichi zwar besser zur Geltung, aber ohne die Begleitmusik der Serie merkt man auch, dass Dramatik nicht gerade die Stärke von Da Capo ist. Dementsprechend seicht plätschert alles vor sich hin.
