"Guuru" datte … watashi datte antara mitai ni ikitai yo … !! (”喰種”だって … 私だってアンタらみたいに生きたいよ … ‼)

Does that mean … things have been nothing but awful for me since the moment I was born?

Dattara watashi wa … umareta toki kara saiyaku tte wake … ? (だったら私は …　生まれた時から最悪ってワケ… ?)

Ghouls weren’t designed to have hearts strong enough to be able to walk on corpses without any guilt. That’s why stifling one’s emotions is a way of coping. Ghouls who lived that way have a disregard for the value of life.

Life is … a continuous commission of sins. Life is … evil itself. I recognize I am evil. You are too …

“Inochi” to wa tsumi wo okashitsuzukeru mono no koto. “Inochi” to wa “aku sono mono”. Watashi wa jikaku suru, watashi wa “aku” da … Kimitachi mo. (「命」とは罪を犯し続けるものの事 「命」とは「悪そのもの」 私は自覚する 私は「悪」だ … 君達も)

There exists no reason to take another’s life. Any act of taking a life is equally evil.

Dare ka wo koroshite ii riyuu nado yonzai shinai. Inochi wo ubau koui wa hitoshiku aku da. (誰かを殺していい理由など存在しない　命を奪う行為は等しく悪だ)

The world continues to breed anger and sadness. Pilfering, killing. We justify those acts to convince ourselves that we are only doing what we are supposed to do.

Sekai wa ikari to kanashimi wo ikitsuzukeru. Ubaiai, koroshiai, sore de touzen to iwan bakari ni, otagai ga jishin wo seitouka shiyou to shiteiru. (世界は怒りと哀しみを生み続ける。奪い合い　殺し合い　それで当然と言わんばかりに、お互いが自身を正当化しようとしている。)

We’re meant to live with the losses.

Bokutachi wa ushinainagara ikiru shika nainda. (俺たちは失いながら生きるしかないんだ)

Revenge doesn’t matter to me… I’m… just sad. So sad… because I miss them.

Hitan … zetsubou … zouo … !! Sono hyoujou da!! Motto da … motto misero … !! (悲嘆 … 絶望 … 憎悪 … !! その表情だ‼ もっとだ … もっと見せろ … ‼)

This world is wrong… !! And it’s you monsters that are distorting it!!

Kono sekai wa machigatteiru … !! Yugameteiru no wa kisamara da!! (この世界は間違っている … !! 歪めているのは貴様らだ!!)

We can’t crush evil (ghouls) with morals. We are justice (investigators). We are morality.

“Rinri” de “aku” (guuru) wa tsubusemasen. Wareware wa “seigi” (sousakan). Wareware koso ga “rinri” desu. (”倫理”で”悪”(喰種)は潰せません　我々は”正義”(捜査官)　我々こそが”倫理”です)

As it always has, the world loves people. But not us ghouls. No matter what, we could never be warm. Frigid emptiness lies in wait. That’s why we’re always being wounded and wounded without even shedding blood. We don’t feel warmth at all.

Yappari sekai wa “hito” wo aishiteru … Watashitachi “guuru” ja nakute. Donna ni shitemo nukumaranai, tsumetai kuukyo ga yokotawaru. Dakara kizu tsuitari, kizu tsuketari shite chi wo nagashiteinaito, nukumori wo kanjirarenai no. (やっぱり世界は「ヒト」を愛してる … 私たち”喰種”じゃなくて。どんなにしても温まらない、冷たい空虚が横たわる。だから傷ついたり、傷つけたりして血を流していないと、温もりを感じられないの。)

If I’d been born a ghoul … I think I would’ve killed people. I … just happened to be born a human. That’s the only reason why I’m allowed to live a moral life.

Moshi jibun ga “guuru” ni umaretetara, watashi wa hito wo koroshiteita to omou. Watashi wa … tamatama ningen ni umareta dake de, kirei ni ikiru koto ga yurusareteru. (もし自分が”喰種”に生まれてたら　私は人を殺していたと思う。私は … たまたま人間に生まれただけで、綺麗に生きる事が許されてる。)

Zutto … iya datta. Ubau bakari no jinsei (jibun) ga … (ずっと … 嫌だった　奪うばかりの人生(じぶん)が … )

There are only two ways you can live. Live beautifully. Or live for somebody beautiful …
