Synopsis

Seit in Japan in the early 17th century. The old emperor has died and one of his sons is to succeed him. At the same time, the palace sends out messengers: Eunuchs, to look for candidates to become the emperor’s new wives. They are then divided into different ranks; the highest and most prestigious rank is that of the “Seihi”, the only one who can give birth to the crown prince. When young Ginga hears about the beautiful life in the palace, she makes it her goal to become said Seihi. But in the meantime, there are rumblings both in the palace and among the population. Envy and hatred are spreading and a rebellion seems unstoppable. Can Ginga reach her goal to do something as the emperor’s new wife after all …?
