Shinigami-sama ist Leiter der Schule Shibusen und physisch sehr stark. Er scherzt gerne, kann aber im Gegensatz dazu auch sehr ernst werden wenn es die Situation erfordert. Seine Erscheinungsform ist in sofern speziell, da er immer eine schwarze Robe und eine Maske, welche vom Aussehen her einem Totenschädel ähnelt, trägt. Er hat eine sehr spielerische Art an sich. Außerdem ist er Vater von Death The Kid und Meister der Deathscythe Spirit.
