Sie ist die Tochter des Poeten, der in Trauer über den Verlust seiner Frau zeit seines Lebens sein Gedicht, welches um Trauer handelt, aufsagt. Sie folgt dabei stets ihrem Vater und lauscht aufmerksam und schweigend seinen Worten.
Als sie 14 Jahre alt ist, stirbt ihr Vater und nun aus Trauer über den Verlust rezitiert sie des Vaters Gedicht mit ihrer eindringlichen Stimme, sodass es die ganze Stadt vernimmt.
