Einst war er in der selben Situation wie Akagi, denn auch er musste unter einer schlechten Mannschaft leiden und war in seinem Team der einzig gute, weswegen man ihn und sein Talent nicht erkennen konnte. Inzwischen spielt er für die sehr starke Ryokufu Basketballmannschaft, aber da ihn eine ähnliche Erfahrung mit Akagi verbindet, fühlt er mit ihm. Von der Stärke seiner Mannschaft ist er sehr überzeugt, weswegen er sich sicher ist, dass sie haushoch gewinnen werden, bis er gegen die sehr guten Spieler Shohokus antritt und dann seine Meinung überdenken muss.
