Genkaku ist der Leiter der Undertaker. Stets in eine buddhistische Mönchsrobe gekleidet und mit seiner Gitarre, die sich in ein Maschinengewehr umwandelt bewegt er sich selbstbewusst durch die Gänge von Deadman Wonderland. Es ist nicht so, dass er eine besondere Vorliebe für das Töten hat, seine Vorstellung ist eher, dass der Tod eine Befreiung ist. Zu dieser Erkenntnis ist er in seiner Jugend gelangt, als er in einem buddhistischen Tempel diente und nach einem Einsturz enschied, seine leidenden Mitdiener zu töten, wobei er es nicht bei einer bloßen Tötung belies, sondern sie auch noch zerstückelte und dann religiös anordnete.
