Seit nunmehr 5 Jahren ist Mitsuko mit Ichirou verheiratet und vor kurzem aus Tokyo heraus aufs Land zu seiner Familie gezogen. Die Takayanagis sind die älteste und traditionellste Familie am Ort, und diesem ehrenvollen Namen fühlt sie sich dadurch besonders verpflichtet. Sie bemüht sich daher, stets tadellos all ihre Pflichten als Hausfrau zu erfüllen und ein Musterbeispiel einer guten japanischen Ehefrau zu sein. Ihre Bedürfnisse als Frau kommen dabei jedoch zu kurz, denn das Liebesleben mit ihrem Mann ist seit der Geburt ihrer Tochter Aya praktisch nicht-existent.

Ihr Schwiegervater Tomizo hat gemerkt, dass sie sexuell frustriert ist und nutzt das schamlos aus. Mitsuko bittet ihn zwar jedes Mal eindringlich, dass es nun das letzte Mal sein müsse, dass sie ihm Erleichterung verschafft, jedoch ist sie es selbst, für die die Versuchung viel zu groß ist - schon bald wendet sie sich ihrem Stiefbruder Kouji zu, der Gefallen an ihr gefunden hat und wird regelrecht abhängig vom Beischlaf mit ihm.
