Misao ist das jüngste Mitglied der Oniwa Banshu von Kyoto, einer Gruppe aus Ninja. Sie ist so etwas wie ihr Maskottchen, doch vor einiger Zeit wurde sie von der Gruppe getrennt. Da Misao schon immer in Aoshi verliebt war, setzt sie alles daran, ihn wiederzufinden. Ihre Suche will sie in Tokyo beginnen, wo sie auf Kenshin trifft, mit dem sie schließlich gemeinsam weiterreist.

Misao ist vorlaut, frech, optimistisch und immer gut gelaunt. Bei ihrer Suche nach Aoshi ist sie äußerst hartnäckig und gibt niemals auf.
