Die Figur Vladimir entstammt der autobiographischen Geschichte »First Love« von Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev, die Tohko Amano gerade mit viel Begeisterung liest und isst. Vladimir verliebt sich in der Geschichte in das etwas ältere Mädchen Zinaida, das gerade erst vor kurzem in die Nähe des Anwesens seiner Familie gezogen ist. Weil sein Vater, den er fürchtet, die Liebe zwischen den beiden missbilligt, trifft er sich heimlich mit ihr. Muss später aber merken, dass sein Vater einen triftigen Grund für seinen Entscheid gehabt hat.
