Maddarf hat sich zusammen mit Lukshana und Ari auf einer Mission zu Saitos Anwesen, eigentlich nur, um die Halbelfe Tiffania von dort zu entführen, doch bei der Gelegenheit nimmt Lukshana Saito auch noch gleich mit. Maddarf missbilligt deren Neugier, die menschliche Rasse betreffend, weil in ihm der Argwohn gegen die Menschen tief verwurzelt ist. Er lässt sich daher leicht von Lord Eshmael vereinnahmen, und wirft seine vorherige Loyalität zu Ari über Bord, der wohl sein Waffenmeister gewesen ist, da Maddarf dieselben Kampftaktiken einsetzt wie er.
