Innerhalb der Crew unter Führung von Jeke ist Gishi zusammen mit Honran weitestgehend für die Durchführung der Außeneinsätze verantwortlich, während die anderen im Landschiff verbleiben. Er ist wesentlich ernster als sein Kommandant eingestellt und mag insbesondere dessen zuweilen ausartetende Sorglosigkeit nicht leiden. Gishi selber wirkt hingegen häufig sehr nachdenklich und brütet stark über ihre nächsten Schritte nach. Außerdem achtet er ein wenig auf Ran - der große Ähnlichkeiten mit Jeke aufzeigt, und ebenso impulsiv wie sorglos agiert - der ihn mehr als nur einmal den letzten Nerv kostet.
