Vermillion ist der Sohn des Rudelführers Akela und der Vater von Lala. Vor vielen Jahren hat er seinem Rudel jedoch den Rücken gekehrt, denn nachdem er gegen Alexander im Kampf um das Recht des nächsten Rudelführers verlor, konnte er die Niederlage nicht ertragen. Zudem verlor er bei diesem Kampf sein linkes Auge.

Vermillion ist sehr stolz, ehrgeizig und mutig. Diese Eigenschaften vertritt er so positiv, dass sich ihm jeder sofort ehrfürchtig unterwirft und ihn voll und ganz respektiert.
