Kyouko Hayato ist Mathematik-Lehrerin an Momokos Schule - bei den Schülerinnen ist sie wegen ihrer lebendigen, jugendlichen Art sehr beliebt. Was allerdings niemand ahnt, ist, dass sie lesbisch ist und sich zu Momoko hingezogen fühlt - die Tatsache, dass Kyouko zu ihr besonders freundlich ist und sie öfter um kleine Gefallen bittet, führt Momoko aber auf ihre eigene Zuverlässigkeit als Klassensprecherin zurück und denkt sich nichts weiter dabei.

Kyouko pflegt einen aufwändigen Lebensstil, liebt gutes (und teures) Essen und fährt einen Sportwagen (Mazda RX-7).

Kurze Zeit nachdem Kyouko Momoko ihre Gefühle offenbart, erkrankt die Lehrerin an Leukämie und muss sich aus dem aktiven Schuldienst zurückziehen.
