Dass Riko eine so gute Trainerin in ihren jungen Jahren werden konnte, verdankt sie zum Großteil ihrem Vater, der sehr positiv auf sie gewirkt hat als Sporttrainer. Während er andere Menschen trainierte, schaute sie ihm nämlich zu, wodurch sie nun über ein sehr weitreichendes Wissen verfügt. Als ehemaliger Nationalspieler der japanischen Basketballmannschaft kennt er sich mit dem Sport natürlich hervorragend aus. Eigentlich ist er ein sehr netter Mann, der besonders zu seiner Tochter sehr herzlich ist, doch weil er sie so liebt, ist es knifflig an sie heranzutreten. Wer es nämlich wagt, sie zu verletzen, der wird nach seiner Aussage getötet.
