Mami Izumi ist eine Mitarbeiterin der 1. Abteilung zur Eliminierung von übernatürlichen Wesen bei der Umweltbehörde. Hier dient sie im Hintergrund als technische Assistentin und beliefert den Angriffstrupp rund um Kagura Tsuchimiya mit nützlichen Informationen. Ansonsten ist Mami ein recht heiteres, nettes Mädchen.

Mami wird, so wie ihr komplettes Team, in der ersten Episode Opfer des von Yomi Isayama durchgeführten Attentats auf die Umweltbehörde. Genauer gesagt begeht Mami sogar Selbstmord, da sie von einem Kategorie D Geist, der ihren Verstand kontrolliert, besessen ist.
